Kate borrows design from Kelly' s gown.

Gown of GRACE KELLY and KATE MIDDLETON

Kate Middleton's gown, an inspiration from that of Grace Kelly

Kate Middleton might have been inspired by the gown worn by another Royal Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly. Fifty five years ago in April 1956 Grace Kelly married to Prince of Monaco Rainier III and in that wedding Kelly wore a gown almost same to the gown Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton wears on the nuptial. Both women highlighted their waistlines with a tight waist and billowing skirt with long train. Both brides wore embroidered veils. Their decolletee was uniquely highlighted with a v-shaped neckline and full-length sleeves of elegant white lace.

The Duchess and The Queen
Kelly's confection was designed by famed Hollywood cosume designer Helen Rose.  Kate's one was designed by Sarah Burton, a creative director of Alexander McQueen.
.
Though and if Kate Middleton borrowed the design from the Queen, it has it's new and modern look also to be widely copied like the Queen's. The new Duchess' gown has low v-neckline gave the new princess a more modern feel. And she isn't the only one to have take fashion inspiration from Kelly—Ivanka Trump wore a Kelly-inspired dress designed by Vera Wang to her 2009 wedding to Jared Kushner. Also it should be kept in mind that the days have changed and new technologies that have been in vogue can make a great difference and a srutinising look can find all this out.

Aimee chatted about "Prom" in MuchMusic

Aimee Teegarden, Nicllas Braun and Jonathan Keltz in MuchMusic, Toronto, Canada
Aimee talked about new high school dramedy "Prom"

Aimee Teegarden (born in 1989)
Aimee Teegraden is serious in her work and about her success as a filmstar. She, upon her appearance on MuchMusic's New.Music.Live in Toronto, Canada, with Nicllas Braun and Jonathan Keltz, talked about "Prom".their new film.

'Prom' features a group of teenagers gearing up for the big dance -- only this time, that doesn't mean a choreographed musical number. This new movie is produced by Disney. The main stars are Aimee Teegarden in the role of Nova Prescott, Jonathan Keltz as Brandon, Nicolas Braun as Lloyd and new comer but promising Thomas McDonell as Jesse Richter, an archtypical "bad boy".

In this Disney’s high school dramedy 'Prom,' director Joe Nussbaum follows several intersecting stories replete with all the twisting  emotions that the high schoolers face along the way. 'Friday Night Lights' hottie Aimee Teegarden stars as Nova, the class president and prom committee chair, as she attempts to ensure the night goes off without a hitch. But as the elaborate prom-posals mount, Nova's still waiting for Brandon (Jonathan Keltz), her perfect guy -- or so she thinks -- to ask her to the dance. And then there's Lloyd (Nicholas Braun), who goes all out trying to find a date, despite having barely talked to any of the girls he asks.
Aimee and McDonell in Prom
Thomas McDonell who ( he said ) began pursuing acting as "an experiment" and who will next appear in Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows," plays an archetypal bad boy straight out of a John Hughes flick — sensitive, rebellious, and enticingly misunderstood. In the film, though an outsider, he gets somewhat forced to form a friendship/relationship with 'Friday Night Lights' star Aimee Teegarden's character, Nova Prescott. Unlike the theaters the story certainly hit the box and Aimee  will be hottie again like Friday Night Lights"

J'ADR: ADR' Fashion shower.

Anna Dello Russo was recently asked to join a programme called Pinocchio on an Italian radio channel, Radio Deejay. Every friday she goes live at 6 o’clock (PM) with fashion tips and rules. On her website I found this great video clip “Fashion Shower – Anna Dello Russo for Radio Deejay”, that was recorded in her Milano apartment. It’s really entertaining and very funny. I love it when she says: Fashion is always uncomfortable (a belief she has expressed before), when you get comfortable, you never get the look.

You need a fashion shower! Why? Because I love it!

A quick reminder: On the second of may the Met costume institute gala will take place. It's an absolute highlight in the fashion business bringing together designers, editors, models, stylists and celebrities, so I believe it will bring about some splendid outfit pictures. I'm very curious myself to see all the beautiful designs, and I cannot wait to share them with you, so stay tuned!

A Royal Wedding.

Before I start I just want to say that I literally came back from an appointment at the dentist 5 minutes ago and my face is still half paralyzed so if some of my words/sentences seem to be part of an invented language, I apologise... I am aware of the fact that today's "William and Kate" wedding has been hyped enormously. I find myself unable of not partly going along this hype. It is just an event that is covered worldwide so I believe it is justified to write something about it today, because we are all being confronted with it on a huge scale. We all know by now that Kate Middleton (Duchess of Cambridge) wore a dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen (and McQueen shoes). With the words of Carrie Bradshaw, she looked impossibly fresh and effortlessly stunning! I didn't expect her to look anything else but beautifully, and neither was it a surprise that she opted for Alexander McQueen. Today I will not talk about all those things everybody has already read about in the paper. No, I will share with you the opinion of many fashion designers on Kate Middleton's choice of wedding dress. Unanimously they agreed that she made the perfect choice and that she looked absolutely gorgeous. Thank you wwd magazine for these reactions. http://www.wwd.com/fashion-news?module=tn/logo

Karl Lagerfeld: “She is very elegant. The dress is classic and goes very well in the Westminster decor. It almost reminds me of (Queen) Elizabeth’s wedding, the royal weddings in the Fifties. The proportion of the train is good. The lace is very pretty. I like the veil a lot.”

Christian Lacroix: “I like the dress very much, simpler than expected: A combination just in between 1956 Grace Kelly and 1947 Queen Elizabeth dress. I love the modest veil with the Queen Mother’s Thirties scroll tiara and balanced volume of the whole gown. She’s radiant; She never was so beautiful. And Prince William’s red Irish uniform is gorgeous.”

Hubert de Givenchy: “The dress is very simple and very nice. The veil is a little flat, but because she has such a lovely face, she can afford to wear it this way. She is very pretty.” About choosing a dress from McQueen, whose founder committed suicide last year, De Givenchy said: “It’s a lovely thought, a nice tribute.”

Peter Copping of Nina Ricci: “Very much in a royal tradition, reminiscent of Queen Elizabeth’s – and a little bit Grace Kelly. She looks happy, radiant and natural.”

Donatella Versace: "Kate's dress was beautiful. She looked very regal."

Viktor & Rolf: “Kate’s dress was simply elegant. Her hair down was a beautiful and natural touch, and the tiara was stunning. She looked as at-ease as humanly possible and was radiant. Our compliments.”

Elie Saab: “It was a very elegant dress, subtly refined and discreet, in keeping with her style. I would have liked it even more with a little extra volume and a longer train.”

Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design at H&M: "Kate Middleton’s dress is beautiful. She looks absolutely stunning today at the royal wedding. The lace together with the long sleeves really showed the craftsmanship and hours of work that has gone into creating a dress like this. The dress suits Kate Middleton perfectly and Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen surely lived up to my expectations. I also think that the lovely flower bouquet will set the trend for many brides to be"

Mark Badgley of Badgley Mischka, speaking for hinself and James Mischka: "James and I have goose bumps! The dress is perfection; and will stand the test of time. It is a classic Grace Kelly look. The skirt is divine. We love the hair down and the veil. The proportion is beautiful."

Antonio Marras, Kenzo: “McQueen was a brilliant choice. The choice of the label and the style of the dress was a very clever mix between edgy fashion and tradition - all in a very British way. You could see references to Grace Kelly or Queen Elizabeth's dresses, but in a simpler, more modern way. I loved her hair down. It looked perfectly natural and noble. Truly royal."

Alexis Mabille: “Kate’s dress is a classic, very elegant and pure…. It reminds me of Princess Grace’s wedding dress in a modern version with deeper cleavage, the draping at the back in reference to McQueen.”

Dennis Basso: "I love that dress. It epitimiizes the modern bride: covered, but still sexy with its tight bodice. The lace overlay and the covered-up look will certainly set a trend."

Ralph Rucci of Chado Ralph Rucci: "I love it. I'm so glad she went with Sarah Burton, who is brilliant. The dress encompasses all the necessities of the protocal a future Queen should represent. It rings in a youthfulness that reflects the future monarchy."

If you want more information about the dress and if you are interested in what Sarah Burton herself had to say about creating the wedding dress:

Another anticipated outfit choice was Victoria Beckham's. I must say she looked exactly like I had imagined (even the hair). Obviously she wore her own label in navy blue (and a Philip Treacy hat I presume). Probably a very flattering choice seen that she is pregnant. I read somewhere that she had louboutins custom made. Well she was wearing satin like blue daffodile's, and I don't think they are available in that colour and that choice of fabric, so possibly that rumour was true.

If you want to see some more Royal Wedding looks:

I must say the prime minister's wife, Samantha Cameron, looked lovely in Burberry. The emerald shade and fitting shape are very flattering.

Does working in radio help you in TV?

Hello from Boston where I never stand down from my Friday Question Watch.  Also, tonight the M's begin a three game series against the Red Sox.  Air time on 710 ESPN Seattle and MLB.COM is 7 PM EDT.  Yes, I'm plugging my broadcasts but have you noticed I haven't bugged you about buying my book?  Although you should.

Here are this week's questions.  What's yours?

Starting us off with an a & b question is WillieB:

When you moved into TV writing full-time, did your DJ background help or hinder you -- or ever even come up in conversation?

Trying to be funny on the radio every three minutes helped sharpen my comedic skills, which certainly aided me in my scriptwriting career. Beyond that, no. Fortunately, I didn’t listen to those program directors early in my career who kept saying, “Shut up! You’re not funny! Just play the fucking hits!”

Ever have a studio guy/producer/director/actor say: "I used to listen to you all the time?"

Once we signed Tom Hanks to star in VOLUNTEERS, my partner David Isaacs and I went out to lunch with him. He mentioned that he grew up in the East Bay of San Francisco in the mid ‘70s. I told him I used to be a disc jockey in SF in 1974 and at the time went by the name Beaver Cleaver. His eyes lit up. “Beaver Cleaver! KYA -- Boss of the Bay!” He used to listen every night. He was a big fan. Even remembered which station I was on.  Needless to say, that made my day. And he was pretty good in the movie too.

cl asks:

Have you any The Doors/Jim Morrison related anecdotes? Have you met them?

I never met them but did see them in concert fairly early on. It was at the Birmingham High School football stadium in Encino, California. The Doors and the Jefferson Airplane.

Gracie Slick and the Airplane were amazing. The Doors, if I’m being honest, were disappointing. And I was (and still am) a huge Doors fan. But Jim was on auto-pilot (and probably on a lot of other things as well).

Plus, the girl I went with that night would not shut the fuck up. Chattering all night about God knows what – getting mono in the 4th grade. I dunno. I desperately tried to tune her out. And for good measure, she was chiding the people around us for lighting up joints. So I was real popular.

My other memory of that night. After the concert we were going to meet up with another couple who were also there but in a different section. I suggested we just meet after the show at the Chevron gas station across the street. Well, I guess I wasn’t the only one with that idea. We get to the Chevron station and there are already 2,000 people there. It took us a half hour to find our other couple, although it would not have surprised me if they were just avoiding us because of my chatterbox date.

I wish I had known Jim Morrison that night. Maybe he could have slipped my date something to shut her up.

From Kris Mandt of Des Moines, IA – a lovely place to raise your children:

When That 70’s Show struck their set for the last time certain bits and pieces of that set went to the long term cast members. Did they do the same thing for the cast of Cheers, Frasier, Wings, etc?

I imagine so. I wasn’t at MASH at the end but know one of the producers could start a museum with all the set souvenirs he  uh, "collected". I personally don’t have anything from those sets.I'm probably an idiot.   But I do have scripts and residuals.

I remember walking down to Stage 25 at Paramount the day they were striking the CHEERS set for the last time. Watching them dismantle this bar that had been such a huge part of my life for a quarter of my life was so devastating I had to just walk out.

When BIG WAVE DAVE’S was cancelled I did take a surfboard and the big BIG WAVE DAVE’S sign, which now proudly hangs in my house.

50 is the new 35 has a question. It’s really long so I’m paraphrasing:

With all the internet fan forums and comment boards there are now, if you had a show on today would you be monitoring them? And would you make creative decisions based on this cyber input?

I would absolutely monitor them. I’d be combing through Twitter, Facebook, websites, newsgroups, searching out any reaction I could find. I would have to take into account that the folks who write about my show are very passionate about it, either for or against, and that the general viewer is not as thrilled or outraged.

But I would consider this feedback very seriously. Often a showrunner can get too close to his product, and hearing from the audience can be a great reality check, even if it smarts sometimes.

Here’s what I wouldn’t do. I wouldn’t go on these forums and respond to the comments. That would lead me down the rabbit hole where I would never be found again. But read everything? You bet.

Natalie Portman emerging as scientist and mother

Natalie Portman's new film and new child to come

Portman in Black Swan
Academy Award 2011 winning Black Swan star Natalie Portman plays the big budget Marvel studio adaptation of "Thor". She says that the story depicts the way women's roles have changed since 1960s. Natalie plays the role of Jane Foster, a scientist, it is hoped that she could become a superhero by this role and film. The filmmakers made some changes to her character for the sake of studio adaptation. “Jane in the comic books is a nurse, and now she's an astrophysics doctoral candidate,” Portman said. “Things have been
updated. Women can be scientists in different ways now.” “Thor” stars Chris Hemsworth as the ostensible character of the thunder god of myth who has been exiled to Earth by his father, Odin. On Earth, he meets up with Foster. “She has some family things that echo Thor's familial situation, so that there's that sort of a bond between them,” Portman said. “Obviously, they have a common quest because he's trying to get back home, and her whole interest of study is these connections between dimensions.”

The film was directed by Kenneth Branagh and both he and Portman wanted to make Foster's character believable as scientist. “Ken and I talked a lot before we started about how to make Jane like a realistic scientist on screen, not just make her someone like the Denise Richards in Bond with the glasses and so she's a scientist,” Portman said. “But we talked about how real scientists are kind of like artists. They're able to imagine things that aren't there.”

Natalie is in New York now, so squeamish deli customers on the East Coast better keep an eye out for this unabashed pickle and ketchup addict.

On the other hand her father, renowned fertility specialist and medical director of the In Vitro Fertilization Program at the Center for Human Reproduction, which sort of makes him famous in his own right, Dr. Avner Hershlag is publishing his own book "Misconception".
It's a fertility thriller and in it it is believed that lots of   information of Natalie Portman's pregnancy will be revealed.
